Compass Coffee, an American coffee company, uses Bitcoin to complete coffee purchases from El Salvador

ChainCatcher news, according to the Salvadoran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the American coffee company Compass Coffee has completed the international procurement of Salvadoran coffee using Bitcoin. Jorge Cruz, the Salvadoran counterpart in this transaction, explained that he received the payment in less than 10 minutes, thus avoiding the need for intermediaries in such transactions.

The transaction stems from a series of talks held in 2022 between the U.S. Department of State and Compass Coffee, aimed at seeking to introduce domestic coffee into the U.S. market and connecting producers and buyers from these countries.
