BitMEX founder: Ethereum's price could double to $5,000 this year

ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes stated at the Bitcoin 2025 conference that the price of Ethereum is expected to reach $4000-5000 this year. Hayes believes that Ethereum is currently the "most unpopular Layer 1 public chain," but this could actually present an investment opportunity during a market cycle transition.

Currently, the price of Ethereum is around $2650, and to reach Hayes' predicted target price of $5000, it still needs to rise by about 90%.
